15 September, 2014 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Windham Orchestra Invites All Musicians to an Open Rehearsal with Director Hugh Keelan
On Monday, September 15, 6:30pm at the River Garden in Brattleboro, the Windham Orchestra will hold a “Get Acquainted” rehearsal. The rehearsal is open to all area musicians to come and participate in inspiring and highly enjoyable music making. No one will be turned away; anyone, from beginner to adept, is invited to sit in the orchestra.
Mozart’s Paris Symphony and Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony will be read and rehearsed. Music Director Hugh Keelan’s exceptional ability to draw the best from his players with encouraging and positive rehearsal techniques will lead to breathtaking music making during the course of even one rehearsal.
A warm welcome is extended to all musicians. No auditions are necessary. Come and enjoy a social evening of music making with a guarantee of extraordinary satisfaction and pleasure. Players will have the opportunity to meet Music Director Hugh Keelan and the amateur and professional musicians of the Windham Orchestra. For local musicians who would like to experience the feeling of playing with a large ensemble, this is an excellent opportunity, either free-standing or for ongoing participation.
This fall, the Windham Orchestra is embarking on an exciting season with Music Director Hugh Keelan returning to the podium. Originally from England, Hugh received his training at Cambridge University, Indiana University, and the Mannes School of Music. He has been music director of the Erie Philharmonic and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. The Orchestra, and BMC, feel fortunate to have a conductor of Hugh’s caliber to lead the orchestra and want to share the experience and opportunity with musicians and audience members throughout the region.
Meet and Greet at 6:30, downbeat at 7:00. All players welcome!
