4th Annual Walk for Amber StorySlam hosted by Robin Zegge
27 April, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Strolling of the Heifers and the Walk for Amber Committee presents the 4th annual “Walk for Amber StorySlam” hosted by Robyn Zegge, a long time local favorite storyteller, comedian, clown, and performer. The StorySlam will be on Saturday, April 27th at 7:00PM at the River Garden in Brattleboro, VT.
StorySlam is a spontaneous and funny, heartwarming and entertaining evening of personal sharing. StorySlam is a storytelling “open mic” similar to the popular Moth Radio Hour on NPR. Contestants from the audience put their names in a basket and are selected randomly to tell a 5-minute true story related to the theme for the evening. This year the theme is “Connections.” The judges will rate the stories and determine the winners with prizes for the top stories.
Proceeds from the StorySlam support the Amber Bernier Scholarship Fund, awarded yearly to qualifying students graduating from Brattleboro Union High School and area schools. Amber Bernier was a 17-year-old BUHS senior who died just prior to her graduation in 2004. She was a beloved student, remembered for her kindness, beauty and style. The Walk for Amber is a series of annual fundraising events including the StorySlam, the Walk for Amber Walkathon, a Raffle and a Dinner which will be held this year on Sunday, June 2, 2019. This is the fourteenth Walk for Amber fundraiser.
