The Limits of Talk Therapy
26 January, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pmFree
Traditional talk therapy can often help people to make better sense of why they are the way they are, but to really change patterns of behavior, thought and relationship, a more integrative and experiential model of therapy is needed. Thanks to recent research in neuroscience, and new advances in the fields of psychology and mindfulness, we now understand so much more about how our brains really work, and why and how lasting, positive change is actually possible. This presentation by InnerWell Integrative Counseling Services Founder & Director, Rachel Zamore, LMFT, will explain brain basics and why — if we want to foster real transformation in people’s lives and relationships — we need to include direct embodied experience (not just the story!) in the treatment of challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, reactivity and relationship distress. www.InnerWell.org
