Events planned for Stroll Weekend (June 4-7) have been cancelled or postponed. Please read Executive Director Lissa Harris's full statement here.

The River Garden will be closed to the public until Vermont's Stay Home Stay Safe orders are lifted. At that time the staff will use the latest information from the Department of Health to determine if we should resume our regular open hours of Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All Brown Bag Lunches and Vendor Expos will be rescheduled when it is safe to do so.

January Gallery at the Garden Presents: “Singing Colors” by Artist Carlene Raper

January 27 @ 9:00 am - January 30 @ 5:00 pm

Some of the work you see on the gallery wall is brand-new, while the Mama Bear Quilt dates from the very early days of Carlene’s career as a quilt maker (nearly forty years ago). About thirty years ago, Carlene Raper began the adventure of dyeing her own cloth, using fiber reactive dyes. She is still quite playful with these dyes, and still don’t know exactly what the cloth will look like in the end. She likes it that way!

Her goal is to make the fabrics (especially the colors) talk with each other, and yes, even SING!
