Caro Diallo and African Dance Vermont

13 August, 2014 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Caro Diallo

Caro Diallo

Master Senegalese dancer and teacher, Caro Diallo will offer a sample African dance class for all levels. Caro Diallo is the featured teacher along with four other master African dance teachers and a drum teacher at the 10th annual Abene African Dance & Drum Festival that will happen August 21 – 24 at The Brattleboro Stone Church. This sample class will give you a taste of Caro’s exquisite skills as a teacher and a dancer and his elegant choreographies for the dances that he teaches. Live drumming will accompany the class.

African Dance Vermont holds an African dance class every Wednesday evening at The Brattleboro Stone Church with a rotation of teachers from Africa or who have studied dance in Africa. Our regular teachers, Georgette Adjie from Cameroon, Pape Ba from Senegal and occasional guest teacher Kabisko Kaba from Guinea will join Caro Diallo along with visiting Senegalese teacher, Tacko Cissokho to teach at the Abene Festival. Namory Keita from Guinea teaches a drum class every Wednesday evening before the dance class at The Brattleboro Stone Church and accompanies the dance classes along with Raoul Ombang from Cameroon on drums. Namory will be teaching two drum classes at the festival. In addition to the festival, Caro Diallo will be in the area for two months teaching every Wednesday evening at The Stone Church through early October.
