Tosca Brown Bag Lunch

Accident or design?
Tosca is one of the few operas that has a major plot twist about…a lunchbox!
The death of a political fugitive is almost assured because an artist’s lunchbox was found empty after the artist had told the Church Warden that he was not hungry…the hero Mario Cavaradossi, the artist and Tosca’s lover, had fed the fugitive and promised him shelter. Baron Scarpia puts his henchmen on the scent, captures Mario for ‘questioning’, and leverages some very uncomfortable personal time with the passionate and alluring Tosca.
Jenna Rae as Tosca, Dr Luci Fortunato, Jim Anderson and Hugh Keelan will join us for an informal tour of the music, setting, language and drama of one of the most visceral and passionate works of the Italian repertoire, in preparation for our upcoming performances in Brattleboro and Northampton.
Come and find out which character you are closest to…an operatic Myers-Briggs game!
