“From the Ashes”: Pre-Screening Discussion followed by Screening

22 June, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Green Writers Press is an official screening partner with National Geographic for the new film From the Ashes.

You are invited to attend this special advanced screening of a groundbreaking new documentary that goes beyond the rhetoric of the “war on coal.” Presented by @NatGeoTVUS, the film takes a compelling and often heartbreaking look at stake for our economy, health, and climate. Learn more about an industry on the edge and what it means for our future. From The Ashes premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and will air globally on National Geographic in the U.S. on June 25, 2017 and globally this summer.

There will be a meeting at the Book Lounge at duo Restaurant at 4 High Street at 6:00 p.m. for a pre-screening discussion with Green Writers Press author Brian Adams (author of the teen YA / Climate Fiction “KABOOM!” about two teenage girls fighting Big Coal in West Virginia).

We will then walk across the street to the River Garden (157 Main Street) for the film which begins at 7:00 p.m. (run time is 1 hr. 20 min). Sponsors: 350-Brattleboro, duo restaurant, The Strolling of the Heifers, and Everyone’s Books.
