Events planned for Stroll Weekend (June 4-7) have been cancelled or postponed. Please read Executive Director Lissa Harris's full statement here.

The River Garden will be closed to the public until Vermont's Stay Home Stay Safe orders are lifted. At that time the staff will use the latest information from the Department of Health to determine if we should resume our regular open hours of Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All Brown Bag Lunches and Vendor Expos will be rescheduled when it is safe to do so.

Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival – Gallery Wall Hanging Instructions

Strolling of the Heifers Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival

Gallery Wall Quilt & Fiber Arts Show will run from November 1 through November 30.

Hanging schedule: Wednesday, October 30, 10 am to 4 pm, and Thursday, October 31, 9 am to 12 pm.

Take Down: All items must be picked up by Wednesday,  November 27 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Quilt Hanging Instructions:

  1. Each quilt exhibited in the show must have a 6” sleeve sewn on the back. To make a 6” sleeve, measure the width of the quilt and cut a piece of fabric the width x 12 1/2”. Stitch the short ends to hide raw edges. Fold strip in half lengthwise with right sides together. Stitch the length of the sleeve. Turn inside out and hand-stitch the top and bottom of the sleeve to the back at the top of your quilt.
(For quilts that are 72″-100″ wide you will need to make two separate sleeves, leaving a one inch space between them in the middle for hanging hardware.)
  2. Please provide your own hanging hardware: dowel made of 1-2 inch diameter wood or pvc, hooks and wires. For large quilts over 72″ we can provide a long dowel and hanging hardware for an additional $15.
  3. Apply a label (3.5″ x 2″) to the bottom right hand corner or supply a wall label. Include: your name and email address (optional), the title of your quilt and price, if you are selling.

Please feel free to call Vicki Friedman 802-246-0982, should you have any questions.
