What’s a heifer, anyway?

What’s a heifer, anyway?

That’s a question we’re often asked.  The answer is simple:

A heifer is a young cow who has not yet had a calf of her own.  And who is very cute, as you can see.

Come to the Strolling of the Heifers Parade on Saturday, June 8, 2013 to see up to 100 heifers, bedecked with flowers, ambling up Brattleboro’s historic Main Street. Be prompt — the parade starts at 10 a.m. sharp, and the heifers lead the parade! And stay for the 2013 Slow Living Expo — an all-day, 11-acre celebration of local food and Slow Living!
