Explore greener living at the Stroll's Green Expo!

Saturday, June 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Common, Brattleboro

SEE EXPO MAP AT BOTTOM OF THIS PAGEo

The Green Expo, initiated at the 2008 parade, will again be part of the Strolling of the Heifers events on Saturday, June 5 and will feature businesses and organizations offering information about ways to "live greener," including:

  • Energy conservation and use of renewable energy resources
  • Recycling and use of recycled products
  • Building construction methods using sustainable products
  • Transportation alternatives that save fuel and the environment
  • ...and more!

When parade viewers follow the heifers, tractors and bands at the end of the parade, they'll find the Green Expo on the Brattleboro Commons, a historic, shaded park just uphill from the Brattleboro Retreat grounds where the Dairy Fest is held.

At the Green Expo, earn prizes, meet green-oriented vendors, learn about green living techniques: energy conservation, recycling, sustainable building methods, and more!

Also at the Common, immediately after the parade, meet the heifers (and other farm animals in the parade) up close and personal, and cheer the contestants in The Miss VerMOOnt heifer beauty contest and Strolling’s annual Celebrity Milking Contest, both sponsored by the University of Vermont Extension.

Children of all ages will enjoy the petting farm, sponsored and brought on site by the Windham Foundation’s Retreat Farm, and other children's activities.

By the way, please ... no smoking at the Green Expo or any other Strolling of the Heifers event. Thanks!

Hungry? There's wood-fired pizza, organic hot dogs, fresh squeezed lemonade, and, the Green Expo features an all organic breakfast served from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. by Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs, with all proceeds going to Strolling of the Heifers. Come down early, when parking is easy, and have breakfast before finding your spot at the Parade route.

Pete and Gerry's is a real family farm in Monroe NH. We've produced high quality eggs for four generations in the heart of New Hampshire's White Mountains. We're committed to producing fresh, organic, cage-free, omega-3 eggs from hens that are Certified Humane. This commitment remains unchanged as our farm grows. We hope you enjoy our delicious eggs as much as we do!
