The concerts benefit the Strolling of the Heifers Microloan Fund for New England Farmers, which addresses the difficulty many New England Farmers have in obtaining loans to sustain and improve their farm businesses.

Strolling of the Heifers, based in Brattleboro, is dedicated to saving family farms by connecting people with the food they eat. In partnership with The Carrot Project, in 2008 it launched the pilot phase of the Microloan Fund, which addresses the credit needs of farmers not able to borrow elsewhere. In 2009, pilot phase loans were extended to a variety of farms in Vermont and Western Massachusetts. The Microloan Fund is now expanding to offer loans in all of New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts.
