Todd Darrah has owned the Chelsea Royal for 18 years.  He was trained in classic French cuisine, and has earned a wide reputation for the hip and retro eatery and its menu of good old-fashioned food with an international flair.

The Chelsea Royal is an original Worcester Lunch Car Company diner, built in 1939.  It’s one of just 15 authentic diners remaining in operation in Vermont today.

Many Brattleboro Area Farmers’ Market members are contributing products to the Royal Farmers’ Feast.  Organic Valley CROPP Cooperatives, America’s largest cooperative of organic farmers, is also donating many ingredients.

The Chelsea Royal is contributing the money raised by the event to the Strolling of the Heifers Educational Fund.  Each year, the fund awards scholarships of up to $1,000 to schools and other organizations to underwrite agriculturally oriented educational projects.  Over the past 7 years, the fund has awarded more than $140,000 in grants to over 80 schools and organizations in Windham County.
