Annual Strolling of the Heifers Parade & Festival

The Strolling of the Heifers Parade & Festival, during the first weekend in June, pays tribute to Vermont ’s agricultural heritage in a fun-filled way. Its charming hometown style festivities feature cows, farmers, artists, musicians, farm fresh food and other regional specialties. The event’s objective is to raise public awareness regarding the importance of preserving sustainable agriculture and protecting Vermont ’s agricultural landscape.

The light-hearted Strolling of the Heifers parade on Saturday is the three-day festival’s focal point. The animal and entertainment cavalcade culminates at Brattleboro Retreat Healthcare’s grounds where the Dairy Fest & Market Place, featuring food, entertainment, agricultural products and demonstrations, occurs. Most of the festival’s events are free, and all of them are open to the public.
